Viking Range Problems We Fix

Oven not reaching temperature

On Viking gas ranges the oven has its own burner, igniter and safety valve. A hot-surface igniter that still glows but no longer draws enough current will not open that valve — the classic "it glows so it must be fine" misdiagnosis.

Sealed brass burner lighting poorly

Heavy brass caps have to seat exactly after cleaning. Proud by a millimetre and the burner will not light or burns lopsided. On high-BTU Viking burners this is the single most common call that needs no parts at all.

VariSimmer no longer simmering

The low setting depends on a precise valve. Once it drifts, the lowest number scorches. It presents as "the range got hotter", which sends people looking at the wrong component.

Griddle or grill module cold

Viking ranges are often specified with a griddle or char-grill section running its own burner and control. A cold module with healthy main burners is that section, not the range.

Convection fan noise or uneven bake

Bearing wear in the convection motor shows up as noise first and uneven browning second. Replaced before it seizes, it is a straightforward job; after it seizes it usually takes the element circuit with it.

Failed after self-clean

Self-clean heat is the most common single trigger for thermal fuse, element and board failures on pro-style ranges. Mention it when you call and the diagnosis starts in the right place.

Viking Range Clients in DFW

Victor came out and worked really hard on getting our outdated oven and mic combo working. It needed a part which they found and ordered. After it came in, they replaced it however it seemed like other issues might be existing with it. I do greatly appreciate all his work towards attempting to repair it.

This is the best appliance repair service in the DFW area. They are honest and forth coming. They came to my house to do an oven repair warranty for free on Dec 23, 2022, eve. The Samsung heating element shorted out twice, an MFG design flaw. They fixed in 3 hours. Wife was really happy.

Fixed my ASKO drier and saved me a ton of money! They were able to come out next day after I called. Super nice technician named Alex, he explained what went wrong and how he fixed it, and how they can fix it if it happens again. I’ll definitely call!

Viking Range Repair FAQ

Most common: clogged burner ports from food debris (especially after boil-overs), failed igniter electrode, faulty spark switch, or a bad igniter module. Our technicians check all components and replace only what failed — no parts swapping shotgun approach.

Continuous clicking after the burner is off = moisture in the igniter switch or a failed igniter module. Usually happens after a boil-over gets liquid into the burner area. On gas ranges, a stuck igniter is a safety concern — call us promptly.
